For the last several years I have enjoyed having my chickens free ranging in the
back yard. They are so funny to watch! But then an owl showed up. We never saw him
but we heard him in the early morning hours. And suddenly my hens began to disappear
one at a time. By the time I realized what was happening I had lost several good
laying birds.
So it was with sadness that I cleaned out the coop and caught each bird one
at a time to lock them back up. They are safer now, but I miss having them
run to me when I come out to feed the animals in the morning.

There has been a lot in the news lately about UFO's, especially since
the white house has been releasing its files and videos. What are they?
Is it possible that there is other life that we don't know about? Of
course it's possible. Nowhere does the Bible tell us that there is
nothing else but us. So yes, it's possible. God can do anything He
wants.
But is it reasonable? God made this world for us, and I don't believe
He would allow alien life to invade. So what other explanation could
there be? It could be spiritual in nature. I have two reason for
saying this. First, in centuries past, the alien technology seemed to
match the technology of the age. For example, aliens in the 18th century
did not go whizzing across the sky at fast speeds. They were much
slower. And second, there are hundreds of accounts of people who have
stopped an alien attack by simply calling on Jesus.

We all have days when we just don't feel like it. Feel like what? Feel like anything.
God knows our frame, says Psalm 103:14, that we are but dust. Well, sometimes
dust just doesn't feel like doing anything.
But this is why God gave us the Sabbath. I don't believe we have to keep it as
strictly as the Israelites did, where we couldn't prepare a meal or even light
a fire. But I do believe that we all need to have a day where we just kind of
rest and relax, doing things we enjoy.

I have a birdfeeder outside my window (not this one, but something similar) and I love
watcing the birds come and perch while they eat. It is so peaceful to watch them, even
when they fight with each other for the best position!
It reminds me of how we ought to be, without the fighting part, of course! But trusting
little ones coming to our heavenly Father each morning for our own meal - actual food
and spiritual nourishment. God will give us as much as we need because He is a loving
heavenly Father!

I first discovered Apologetics in 2010. I had been a Christian for several decades, but
always had doubts. Sometimes I caught myself hedging my bets, just in case Christianity
wasn't true, because no one had ever shown me any real evidence. Until 2010. That's when
I heard R.C. Sproul talking about evidence for the Christian faith! I couldn't believe it.
It was actually true!
I began to study apologetics and eventually got my doctorate in it. I have never
looked back, and I have no doubts about Christianity at all. If you want to know
more just reach out! I love talking about the evidence for Christianity!

It's a stormy day here today, but we can use the rain. I love how green
everything gets when it rains. Soon enough it will be 110 degrees and no
rain to be found, so I am enjoying it while it lasts.
I admit I had fun watching my chicks out in the rain. They are young and this
is their first rain storm. They didn't know what to make of it. But I gather
that they didn't like it very much! LOL. 🤣

When I consider all that God has done for me... not just the things I know about
but the innumerable things He does that I can never know about, I just marvel
at how much He loves me. I don't deserve it and yet He continues to love
me with His everlasting love. I can't escape it, and I don't want to. It
is so great to know that whatever else might happen, I can't make God
stop loving me. What a joyous release it is to not have to worry about
that any more forever! God is great!

One of the things that always amazes me about God is how abundantly generous
He is. Even in places where there are no humans to witness the beauty, God
still makes trees filled with fruit, and flowers growing like carpets of
color, just in case some human happens by. The earth is truly filled
with His glory, and we can only witness a smidgeon of it. But He puts
it all out there every single day. He has created a beautiful planet
for us. Enjoy!

I woke up this morning with a song on my lips. I am not sure what
triggered it, but I have been rolling it over in my head and
meditating on it. Has God ever put a song in your heart that
you just can't stop singing? I love when that happens. God
is so good to us, isn't He?

I am finally getting the website up and running. I have built this myself, and
please be gracious. I am learning as I go. But I am having a lot of fun!
More improvements in the future. But for now at least it's running!

Clean up time at the church building, and one of the things I've always wanted
to do was plant some flowers under the cross outside. What do you think?

We are getting ready to celebrate Easter!
We have an Easter morning breakfast pot luck,
followed by an egg hunt for the kids. Then we have a rousing
service and everyone goes home to celebrate the rest of the day
with their families.
I love Easter Day! It is the day that Jesus rose again
to new life, and made it possible for us to also live
forever with Him. The Resurrection is a fact of history
that simply can't be refuted. Jesus has Risen!

What does the name "The Church of the Nazarene mean? Jesus, our Lord and Savior
is the Nazarene. We are the people of Jesus - we are the church of the "Nazarene"
Himself. We sometimes call ourselves "Nazarenes" but that is not strictly correct.
We are of the same beliefs as THE Nazarene - Jesus. But we are not THE Nazarene.
We are His followers.
The Church of the Nazarene is a holiness church in the Wesleyan tradition. We beleive
in the same things that were taught by John Wesley and the Methodists of the 18th
century. We take our holiness seriously, and we wish for all people to do the
same. But we are not judgmental. We are saved by grace alone like every Christian.

This little church is so cute! It was handmade by one of the original members of the church.
We use it for our Alabaster offerings. Alabaster is celebrated in both February and
October, and we take offerings and give it to the compassionate ministries arm of the
Church of the Nazarene so that they can distribute it to those needing funds for
buildings and other building projects all over the world!

Five years today I began as pastor at Faith Fellowship.
What a journey it has been! I love this church and all the people.
The time seems to be going by so fast. Before I know it, it will be six years!
The crosses pictured here are on the wall of the fellowship hall. Over the decades
people have brought in crosses that have personal meaning, and hung them on the wall.
I hung one up about three years ago after much thought and prayer. Beautiful!
